Nimba
Nimba (D'mba) is the Baga (Guinea) great mother headdress spirit, a monumental carved wooden bust worn in harvest dances. She embodies fertility, abundance, and the ideal woman — not a forest guardian. Appears as an elderly woman testing visitors' respect in some narratives. Documented in Baga art and ritual (Smithsonian, Musée du Quai Branly collections).
