Nixe
The Nixe is the female counterpart to the Nix, a freshwater mermaid of German rivers (Rhine, Danube). Beautiful woman with fish tail, wet hem distinguishes her. Her song lures men to drowning. Nibelungenlied mentions Rhine maidens guarding the Rhinegold. Wagner's Ring adapts them as Woglinde, Wellgunde, Flosshilde. She loves music and dance.
