Njuggle
The Njuggle (also nuggle or neugle) is the Shetlandic water-horse, a male water spirit of the islands' lochs, burns and streams, found nowhere else in the British isles according to the folklorist Karl Blind in 1881. Mischievous rather than uniformly murderous, it still lures riders onto its back and drowns them, with children its special prey, and it was blamed for stopping the tirl (wheel) of watermills.
