Ntxwj Nyog (also Ndu Nyong or Ntxwj Nyug) is the primordial spirit of sickness, death, and evil in Hmong shamanic mythology. According to Hmong creation myth, Ntxwj Nyog emerged from an unburned egg when the original creators failed to properly destroy all evil in the world. He descended to earth and began devouring human souls, causing sickness and death.
