Nut is the Egyptian goddess of the sky and the heavens. She arches over the earth as the starry sky, her body covered with stars. Daughter of Shu (air) and Tefnut (moisture), sister and wife of Geb (earth). Each day she swallows the sun god Ra, who travels through her body at night and is reborn from her womb at dawn. She was separated from her beloved Geb by their father Shu, who holds Nut above the earth.
