Obariyon
Obariyon (おばりよん) is a child-sized yōkai of Niigata Prefecture whose name comes from the local dialect phrase for 'give me a piggyback ride'. It leaps onto travelers' backs and grows heavier with every step, and may chew the scalp of its bearer, so some villages wore metal bowls as helmets. If carried home, the burden is found to be a sack of money, rewarding perseverance.
