Ocean Spider
The Ocean-Spider is a monstrous water creature of Greenlandic Inuit tradition recorded by Hinrich Rink. A kayaker in the firth of Godthaab once found the bottom close beneath him where no shoal was known, remembered the elders' warnings of the ocean-spider, and barely escaped when two monstrous eyes and a gaping mouth opened beside his kayak.
