Ogo (The Cosmic Fox)
Ogo (Yurugu), the Pale Fox, is the Dogon trickster. Firstborn of Amma, he rebelled, stole a piece of the sun, and brought death, imperfection, and speech to humanity. His incest with Earth produced first ancestors. Amma restored order by sacrificing his twin Nommo. Ogo's disorder is necessary for a dynamic universe. Per Griaule's Ogotemmêli interviews.
