Ojalehto (Stream Leaf)
Ojalehto ('Stream Leaf') is a small Finnish water spirit of brooks and streams, childlike, greenish-brown with fish scales or gills. Plays pranks but generally harmless; protects water sources and fish. Appears as small child or fish-like creature. In North Karelia, distinguished from vetehinen: ojalehto grabs swimmers, vetehinen infects as illness.
