One-Eyed Cave Jinn
In Omani folklore the enormous cavern of Majlis al Jinn ('meeting place of the jinn') on the Selma Plateau is a gathering place of spirits; locals told its 1983 discoverers that the cave was filled with genies. A local legend recounts a woman named Selma who fled an enormous one-eyed jinn across the plateau, its errant lightning bolts fracturing the earth to create the cave's three entrances.
