Orang Minyak (Oily Man)
The orang minyak ('oily man') is a figure of Malaysian urban legend: a man covered head to toe in black oil who creeps in at night to attack women, his oil making him nearly impossible to catch. Publicized in the 1950s by Berita Harian and later in a P. Ramlee film, he is read as a modern moral tale reinforcing sexual morality and fear of strangers.
