Oriole Spirit
The oriole (vàng anh) is a spirit figure of Vietnamese folk narrative, most famously in the tale of Tấm and Cám, where the wronged heroine is transformed into an oriole that sings beside the royal palace and later into other natural forms. The oriole's transformations express themes of death, rebirth, and the eventual triumph of justice in Vietnamese storytelling.
