Owl Deity of Uzbek

deity · Uzbekistan · Central Asia

Not independently attested as a deity of Uzbek folklore. No source records an owl god in Uzbek tradition, and owls are generally birds of ill omen in Central Asian folk belief. The closest real practice is the protective use of owl feathers against the evil eye, a charm best documented among the neighboring Kazakh people rather than in any Uzbek owl cult.
