Owl Deity of Blackfoot
No owl deity is attested among the Blackfoot of Canada (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani of the Blackfoot Confederacy). Their genuine owl traditions are the Owl Dance, a social and courtship dance, and the belief that owls may carry the spirits of medicine men. The owl is honored in song and story but is not a deity.
