Púca (or Pook-al)
The Púca (or Pook-al) is a regional Irish name for the púca, emphasizing its horse form: a shiny black steed that lures riders, or a goat with long horns, or a dark-haired slightly deformed human. It tangles hair, spits in drinks, steals items, but can also guide travelers. Must be kept fed or it turns angry. Samhain is 'Púca Night.' The name 'Pook-al' reflects the Anglo-Irish pronunciation.
