This entry is a misattribution of Guarani-region material to the United States: no USA tradition records a 'panther deity' of this kind, and no specific panther deity is clearly documented in Guarani tradition either. The closest genuine analogues are jaguar-cult figures of South America and cougar spirits of North American tribes.
