Papa Bois
Papa Bois is a nature-spirit from Trinidad and Tobago mythology. He appears as an ancient, muscular man with cloven hooves, goat-like horns, and a beard woven from living leaves. He can shapeshift into a deer to lure disrespectful hunters into the thickest parts of the woods, where they become hopelessly lost. His name is of French origin ('Papa Bois' meaning Father Wood). In Grenadian tradition, he is married to Mama Glo. He carries a hollowed-out bull's horn which he uses to warn animals when humans approach.
