Pincoy

guardian · Chile · South America

Pincoy is the Chilote sea god of Chiloé Island, Chile: blue-skinned, seal-bodied with human head, son of Millalobo (king of seas) and Huenchula, brother/husband of Pincoya. He herds fish, guides lost sailors, calms or raises storms, and leads drowned souls to the phantom ship Caleuche. Rival to the Caleuche's warlocks.
