Piuchen
Piuchen (Mapuche: piwichen, 'dry people') is a Chilote/Mapuche vampiric winged serpent. It flies at night sucking blood from humans and livestock, emitting a deadly whistle or paralyzing gaze. In old age it transforms into a bird or frog-like form. Dwells in alerce forests; tracked by bloody urine trails. Killed by plugging its hollow and burning. Linked to vampire bat (Desmodus rotundus).
