Pontianak
The Pontianak is one of the most feared supernatural entities in Brunei, as throughout the Malay world. She is the vengeful spirit of a woman who died during childbirth, transforming into a terrifying undead creature. In Brunei, she is said to inhabit banana groves and dark places near Kampong Ayer. She appears as a beautiful woman with long black hair and a white dress, but reveals her true horrific nature with fangs and sharp claws when she attacks. Her presence is announced by the scent of frangipani flowers and the sound of a crying baby
