Preah Ko (Sacred Ox)
Preah Ko ('Sacred Ox') is the sacred ox of Khmer legend, brother of Preah Keo. According to the tale the ox's belly held precious objects and divine power that safeguarded the kingdom, making the brothers bringers of peace and prosperity to Cambodia. The sacred-ox figure is associated with the Hindu bull Nandi, and the legend is tied to the Emerald Buddha and royal tradition.
