Ptehincala
Ptehincala is the sacred Buffalo Calf of Lakota tradition, best known as Ptehincala San Win, the White Buffalo Calf Woman who brought the Lakota the sacred pipe, the Ptehincala hu canunpa, and taught them to pray. She promised to return, and her gift made humans relatives of all creation; white buffalo calves are still revered as her sign.
