Puteana
Not independently attested in documented Italian or Sardinian folklore or academic sources: no legend or record names a creature 'Puteana'. The record appears to be a garbled reference to the Sardinian coga (bruxa), the shapeshifting blood-sucking witch, or to the strega tradition generally — female witches of the night who fly, cast spells and shapeshift, feared yet sometimes consulted.
