Puteri Gunung Ledang is a celestial princess and guardian spirit of Mount Ledang (Mount Ophir) in Johor, Malaysia. According to legend, the powerful Sultan of Melaka, Sultan Mahmud Shah, heard of her legendary beauty and sought her hand in marriage. The princess agreed — but only if the Sultan fulfilled seven impossible conditions: build a golden bridge from Melaka to the mountain, build a silver bridge back, provide seven trays of mosquito hearts, a vat of virgin's tears, a bowl of his son's blood, and two cups each of the Sultan's own blood and semen.
