Pwca
The Pwca (Púca, Pooka) is a Welsh shapeshifting spirit cognate with the Irish púca. It appears as a horse, goat, or human with animal features, leading travelers on wild rides but doing no lasting harm. Controlled by sharp spurs (cold iron). Associated with Samhain; snip 1 November is 'Pwca's Day.' Regional forms include a goblin in Glamorgan, an eagle in Pembroke, a black goat in Radnor.
