Raven Water-Spirit of Tlingit
Raven (Yéil) is the foremost transformer and trickster of the Tlingit, the shaper of the present world. In the eternal stories (tlaagú), he placed the sun, moon and stars in the sky, stole the box of light from its keeper to end the darkness, and gave form to the rivers and landscape. Sometimes helpful, often mischievous, he teaches by example and is honored as a clan ancestor.
