Rávga (from Norse 'draug') is an undead sea creature in Sami folklore — the soul of a drowned person whose body was never found and properly buried. Unlike the Čáhcerávga (water wraith) which was known to be fictional, the Rávga was believed to be real and dangerous. It appears as a long-haired, large-mouthed creature in human form that harasses sailors and people on shore. It calls out and imitates the speech of the living to lure people to their deaths or simply frighten them.
