Red Headband is a Comorian nature spirit haunting Mount Karthala's active crater on Grande Comore. Appears as a giant human wearing a red headband, stalking and killing intruders, naturalising unexplained volcanic deaths. Documented in Comorian oral tradition as deterrent against venturing into the dangerous summit zone. The red headband signals volcanic danger.
