Redcap
The Redcap (Robin Redcap) is a murderous goblin of English Border folklore (Northumbria), haunting ruined castles—especially those of tyrannical lords. Wears a red cap soaked in victims' blood, iron boots, carries an iron pikestaff, throws huge stones. Repelled by religious symbols. Famous as familiar of Lord Soulis of Hermitage Castle (ballad 'Lord Soulis' in Scott's 'Minstrelsy').
