Redcap
The Redcap (powrie) is a malevolent goblin of Anglo-Scottish Border folklore. He haunts ruined castles, wears iron boots and a red cap dyed in victims' blood, carries a pikestaff, and throws stones at travelers. Driven off by Scripture or a crucifix, vanishing in flames and leaving a large tooth. The most famous is Robin Redcap, familiar of William de Soulis of Hermitage Castle.
