Risin
Risin (The Giant) is a colossal petrified giant who, along with his wife Kellingin, was sent from Iceland to steal the Faroe Islands. Risin waded into the sea while Kellingin climbed Mount Eiðiskollur with a heavy rope to tie the islands together so she could push them onto his back. They struggled through the night but could not move the islands, and at dawn sunlight struck them both, turning them instantly to stone.
