Rupé
Rupé (also Rúppé, Eri or Poto) is the supreme creator god of the Bubi of Bioko, Equatorial Guinea. He is invisible, has no fixed gender, and no image of him is made; he dwells beyond the sky and is the source of all energy (töú). Bubi cosmogonic narratives say he either descended from the sky and moulded the first two people from red clay, or created them in his transcendental space, breathed a spirit into them and sent them down to earth. He can manifest in the world as fiery lightning, tornadoes and thunder. In the north he is called Rupé, in the south Poto; Eri is another name. Missionaries
