Sømunk
Sømunken (the Sea Monk) is a sea monster reportedly caught in the Øresund in 1546 and presented to King Christian III of Denmark. The creature was described in contemporary sources as being four ells long (approximately 2.5 meters), shaped like a fish but with a monk-like head featuring a tonsure and a body resembling a monk's robe. It was kept alive in the Copenhagen castle moat for three days before dying, after which it was given a Christian burial.
