Salmon Boy Nuxalk
Salmon Boy is a guardian-spirit tale told by the Nuxalk and many Northwest Coast peoples. A boy who mocked the salmon is taken by the salmon people into their underwater villages, where he lives among them, learns their laws and the songs of the salmon, and returns to teach his people how to honor the fish so that the runs will return.
