Not independently attested. Salmon (Salmo salar, Oncorhynchus) are native to the northern hemisphere and absent from Paraguay's subtropical/tropical rivers. Guarani mythology has no salmon deity. The record appears to project Pacific Northwest salmon ceremonies onto South America.
