The Salu'ah (feminine grammatical form, as opposed to Salu — masculine) is the Arabian she-wolf, a monstrous creature from Bedouin folklore of northern Saudi Arabia. According to Bedouin oral traditions collected by Fatmah Alblui in her anthology 'Salu'ah: Between Fact and Fantasy,' the Salu'ah is a hairy, ugly animal-like woman who hunts primarily men and occasionally children and women. She has sharp teeth, howls like a wolf, and can transform herself into an old woman to approach unsuspecting victims.
