Sáráhkká is the most important birth goddess in Sami mythology, daughter of Máttaráhkká. She lives under the hearth (aernie) of the goahti (Sami tent). She is the most worshipped of the Sami goddesses of childbirth. When Radien-attje creates a soul and sends it to Máttaráhkká who gives it life, Máttaráhkká hands it to Sáráhkká, who places the fetus in the woman's womb and gives it a body.
