Sasabonsam
The Sasabonsam is the vampire-ogre of the Akan and Ashanti of Ghana, a forest spirit with iron teeth, pink or dark skin, long red hair, bat-like wings and iron hooks for feet, which hangs in tall trees and drops on those who venture too deep. Rattray recorded it in Ashanti Proverbs; it polices forest boundaries.
