Sasq'ets ('wild man'), of the Sts'ailes (Chehalis) people in British Columbia, is the hairy forest being from whose name J.W. Burns coined the word 'Sasquatch' in 1929. The Sts'ailes hold Sasq'ets in their identity and culture as a genuine, longstanding figure of the mountain forests, distinct from the popularized 'Bigfoot.'
