Sayad

jinn · Yemen · Middle East and North Africa

Not independently attested in Yemeni folklore under this name. Sayad is described as a female jinn, tall with long hair, sagging breasts, and donkey legs, who manifests through those who fear her and seizes possession. The figure closely resembles Umm al-Subyan, the child-stealing night demon of South Arabia, and may be a mislabeled variant of that attested being.
