Scorpion Spirit (Angolan)

spirit · Angola · Central Africa

Not independently attested in Angolan tradition. The input conflates generic 'forest spirit' tropes with the scorpion. The closest real analogue is Angolan veneration of Mami Wata/Mamba Muntu, who sometimes appears as a snake. Scorpions feature in Kongo minkisi as protective medicines, but no named 'Scorpion Spirit' exists in published Angolan ethnography.
