Inuit oral tradition tells of several dangerous marine beings, not one named 'Sea Monsters.' Qalupalik lurks beneath the sea ice and snatches children who wander onto thin ice; Arnapkapfaaluk, 'the terrible woman of the sea,' is a form of the Sea Mother who eats hunters.
