Sedna
In Greenland, Sedna is known by many names — Arnakuagsak, Arnaqquassaaq, Sassuma Arnaa — the great sea mother who lives at the bottom of the ocean and owns the whales, seals and walruses. She was a mortal girl whose severed fingers became the sea mammals after her father betrayed her.
