Sennentuntschi
Sennentuntschi, the Alpine shepherd's doll, is best documented in the Swiss Alps, especially Appenzell, where lonely herders build a figure from straw, rags, and wood and it comes to life to punish their sins. Western Austrian variants (Vorarlberg, Tyrol) carry the same motif. The story warns against lust and the objectification of women; this entry is a regional variant of the Swiss legend.
