Serpan is a Seychellois serpent spirit from Creole oral tradition, capable of shapeshifting into pearl necklaces or children. Associated with forest magic and the supernatural world. Limited English documentation; primarily in Seychellois Creole folklore collections. May relate to Indian Ocean 'Naga' serpent traditions and Malagasy fanahy (ancestor spirits).
