Shurale
Shurale is the forest spirit of Tatar and Bashkir folklore: a long-fingered, ticklish being with a single horn and leathery skin who lures lone travelers into the woods and tickles them to death. Mischievous and dangerous, he was made famous by Gabdulla Tuqay's verse tale, cementing his place in Tatar national literature.
