Sieidi Spirit
Sieidi (also seita) spirits are the spiritual forces dwelling in unusual rock formations, stones, or landscape features considered sacred in Sami religion. Each family or clan had its local sieidi — a naturally shaped stone or rock formation that was the dwelling place of a spirit with power over local animals, fish, and birds. Offerings of reindeer meat, antlers, horns, fish, and metal objects were made at these sites for hunting luck, protection, and general prosperity.
