Si'lat
In Palestinian folklore the Si'lat is one of the most dangerous kinds of jinn: a female, witchlike spirit of fixed appearance and cunning malice, distinct from the shapeshifting ghoul. Associated with madness and with leading travellers astray in the wilderness, it cannot be reasoned with or placated and delights in causing suffering.
