Skadegamutc
Skadegamutc is the ghost-witch of Wabanaki (Abenaki) tradition, the malevolent spirit of a sorcerer who died unquiet. It can change its shape, appearing as a human, a shadow, or an animal, and drifts along forest paths or into villages after sunset, watching unseen. It represents dangerous spiritual power and the warning against misuse of magic.
