Skitters (Merry Dancers)
The Skitters (Na Fir Chlis, 'the Nimble Men') are the fairy dancers of the Aurora Borealis in Scottish Gaelic tradition. Seen as multicolored lights or dancing warrior figures in the northern sky, their lively dancing foretells fair weather; snip wild, rapid movement is an ill omen. They are one of three hosts of fallen angels: fairies on land, Blue Men in the sea, and Nimble Men in the sky.
